Do you want to start your own business? Starting Your Own Business is brought to you by The Entrepreneurs Network, an eBook written by Harry Beugelink.
It’s all you need to know to start your own business in one neat package, no more searching the Internet for what you need; everything is in this great eBook. There are resources you can actually use and action steps to take.
The first chapter deals with Are You Sure? What a clever way to start off an eBook about starting your own business because self employment is not for everyone. There are questions you need to ask yourself.
He even tries to discourage you from making the move so if you can get past this chapter than you just might have what it takes to start your own business.
Harry than goes on to explain the kinds of businesses you can start and whether to do it full or part time and the business opportunities that are out there.
Now let me just say that this eBook is about starting a service, manufacturing or retail business, it does not explain Internet Marketing or having a business online. This is for those who may provide services whether from a home office or a separate office where you see clients on a regular basis.
But all businesses whether online or offline will start out the same way- you have an idea, research your idea, plan for your business, raise capital, set up a business structure and so on.
You still can benefit from this book by learning the foundations you need to have in place before ever opening your doors whether online or offline.
Since it does deal with offline business there are chapters on buying an existing business and buying a franchise, what both mean and what’s involved in taking this route.
A section on Business planning which is appropriately called Failing to plan is planning to fail. I couldn’t agree more.
Different types of business structures, licenses, permits, zoning laws everything you need to know about starting a business.
There is two volumes to this ebook, I highly recommend buying both. For just a few dollars more you benefit from learning start to finish business fundementals. Above I descirbed Volume I, below talks about Volume II.
Volume II covers Finances with a list of advantages and disadvantages to obtaining money to start your business venture whether your borrowing money or using your own savings, a must read.
My favorite section is on running your business from home, the pros and cons and the financial advantages to starting your business and running it from your home.
And if you can’t start your business from home than how to pick a location.
Buying or leasing a location, knowing the leasing lingo and what to watch out for in a lease agreement
Your insurance questions answered which was a big help to me, I think I may be carrying the wrong insurance.
He explains every kind of insurance from liability to life to disability to health insurance every kind of insurance you should consider when owning a business with tips on how to buy the right kind o insurance for your business.
How important communications is to your business, your customers, employees and suppliers, everyone you come in contact with. This is something I don’t see discussed much in other business books.
Chapter on communications VoIP (Voice over Internet protocols) tips on how to select a VoIP service and virtual faxing services, I’m looking into this service and will be writing about it at a later time.
Your 1st year in business, making it work with tips on how to stay out of that 50 % range of people who fail in the first five years of business.
The downside to this eBook is that you can’t print it out, the print setting is turned off. Not sure why the author choose to do this but I like to print out eBooks. I take them with me when I’m on the go and read them during those times I have idle time like waiting for my car or at the doctor’s office.
But still, save it to your desktop and use it as your resoursce guide to getting started with your small business, you won’t be disappointed; even Internet Marketers could benefit from learning a few things as well.
It’s easy to read and understand, much easier than the three business books I have sitting on my bookshelf. They are hard to follow and discouraged me for a long time from starting my own business because the process seemed to complicated for me.
So if you want an easy to read, understand, with resources you can use than this is the book you’ve been searching for.
