When I started out a year ago looking to do something different  I found it difficult to find information on what I could do outside of the hospital or nursing home.  The information is out there but i’s scattered everywhere and can be difficult to find or understand.  So I’m putting it all together for you here. Check back often as new information is added regularly.

But I am here to say it is  not easy starting your own business, especially being a nurse, you have little or no business background, at least I didn’t. I’ve started from scratch taking online courses and buying books on the subject, educating myself on business, marketing, web design, and I am still learning and loving every minute of it.

It can be done though and if you are motivated, love working independently and are  a self starter than self employment may be for you.

It’s fascinating to me all the business opportunities for nurses and I am enthusiastic to write about them here, to educate and inform you. We as nurses are unique in the kinds of businesses we can start, like Legal Nurse Consultant, Geriatric Care Manager or Nursing Informatics.

You can also follow me on my journey as I transition from bedside nursing to nurse entrepreneur. I’ll share my experiences with you, providing sound information you can use and  learn from my mistakes, making your journey easier.

Everyone has to start somewhere so why not here.

Here’s to your success in whatever kind of  business you do!
